An Intense, captivating, beautifully written, and smoothly flowing story stole my heart.
Despite being co-written with Josie Jade the tale has a strong Janie Crouch voice to it, a love story filled with drama, trouble, healing of hearts, and mending of past wounds. I loved just about everything about the story, the premises, the characters, the built-up of the danger and drama, the angst that was tangible on each moment, the sweetest, most tenderly passionate romance that stays with you and lingers in your mind and heart. It is written from the first point of view, from dual sides of the tale, the hero and the heroine, thus the 'just about' when loving the book. Though I do admit, it worked here, so maybe I am getting over my dislike of the 1st POV. Resting Warrior Ranch is a new series, that delivers from the start with a powerful storyline, with likable and charming characters, relationships that go deep into the emotions, under your skin. I loved how much there was suspense from the danger and threat from the start of the tale, yet the built-up to the crescendo was fiercely intense. From the beautifully painted Montana scenery to the life-threatening menace and violence, to the recovery and healing, and most of all, the preciously luscious, adorably sweet, and delightfully captivating story of Lucas and Evelyn; Montana Sanctuary is an appealing and pleasing tale from the first to the last scene delivering strongly on all fronts. ~ Five Spoons

What an amazing thrill ride and an emotional roll-a-coaster Virgo was! All the feels are on the surface, the emotions are intense, and the suspense is fierce, even cruel at times, yet nothing overly gory.
I held on, white-knuckling through the twists and turns, loving every moment of it; savoring the sweet, delighting in the passion, relishing catching the bad guys, and cheering on for the survival of the brave, strong, and badass heroine and her truly worthy hero. Bronwyn and Sarge have one of those connections that makes you believe in soulmates. The way they get each other and understand the trials of their past and challenges of their present, accept each other just as they are - it was tangible, unique in a way that is just them, and so brilliantly, heart-wrenchingly beautiful, it took my breath away. It doesn't matter what is going on around me or in my life, Crouch's stories captivate and beguile my mind completely. The suspense in this story builds up realities that are freighting and chilling, both globally and personally, making the protagonists bonder what are they willing to sacrifice to protect and save their loved ones. Zodiac Tactical is proven to be one of my all-time favorite romantic suspense series, and that is saying a lot. The stories will entertain, intimidate, charm and delight, make you swoon, and make you curl your toes with the tension - and heal any kind of reading slump you find yourself in. Highly recommended!! ~ Five Spoon
WOW! I don't remember if I have ever cried so hard for a literary heroine as I wept for Wavy's fate. This story hit hard and made an impact like I wasn't prepared for. When I heard that Janie Crouch is coming out with a new series I was elated like a kid at Christmas. Even the change in POV into the first tense didn't put me off, and I admit, here it gave the story continuous intensity and flow that took a hold of my mind, making the tale unputdownable. An impressive feat of excellent storytelling, a gripping tale of horror and fright, an ardent story of love that has time and space to deepen and grow, a team that is ready to sacrifice for their mission and for each other - Aries has it all, it blew me away with the depth of the emotions between Ian and Wavy, with the intense terror of human trafficking, with the potent fast tempo of the fight for their lives, for what is right, and the absolute trust that bonds the mates of Zodiac Tactical team. Aries brings to the pages few characters from the past series by the author, and the tale has such a natural, smooth flow, emitting the kind of insights rarely seen at the first installment into a series. I loved this story so hard, I'm intrigued by the Zodiac Tactical team members, looking forward to getting to know them and read about the troubles they face and soulmates they find. Yes, I am enamored, and I just might re-read Aries again just to figure out what are the horoscope signs of the rest of the crew. ~ Five Spoons USA TODAY bestselling author Janie Crouch writes what she loves to read: passionate romantic suspense. The Young Adult genre with its angst and turmoil meets the intensity and danger of the Romantic Suspense and sweetness and adoration of the Romance novels creating just the perfect kind of adorable, enjoyable, and entertaining tale. Jess O’Conner and Ethan Bollinger have charm and enamored all the Linear Tactical readers since they first walked into the pages of the beloved series. Watching them grow older and closer to each other has been endearing, witnessing their tenser love melted hearts. I loved how this story wrapped up the Linear Tactical series while giving fresh clips of the future years of the characters. The first-person POV first took me by surprise, but it fits well into the turbulent young love story. The tale has a touch of thrilling tension of suspense, but mainly it is a beautiful, ardent tale of forever kind of love, family, and friends. What a thrilling conclusion to the series that has captured my mind and heart. The Blaze has it all: edgy and intimidating suspense, loyal and true friendships, tender yet ardent love story, and at the end, it is all about unity, family, love, and forever, just like each of these riveting Linear Tactical books have been before. Kendrick and Neo have that geeky chemistry in their connection of their smarter than most brains, but there is nothing geek-like in their physical attraction and passionate bond as they finally come together. The loyalty despite the betrayals, the forgiveness, and understanding that comes with love, the building of trust as the foundation of their relationship - I was enamored and wanted to savor every moment of their beautiful love story. The other part of the tale was the development of Dorian and Ray's family. I enjoyed seeing the growth in both of them and the wonders love and the Linear Tactical family has conjured in them. The way the author talked about adopted children, the love one has - and develops - for them, as they are part of you and meant to be your family was palpable and heartfelt. While I'm having a hard time letting go of the Linear Tactical family, the epilogue in the Blaze was more of a prologue for the new series to come and I admit, I am intrigued! Scout as a novella packed so more punch, it had more development, heat, and freshness both on the action side as well on the relationship and romance side than some novels do. And now we get an extended novel-length of a story for Nadine and Wyatt and five spoons are not nearly enough to rate their story that still felt fresh and enticing and exciting.
This story is an absolutely delightfully ardent, riveting, endearing tale that captivated my mind and heart. I adored Nadine, she is one of those characters you want to be friends with. She has her hurdles, she is not the cookie-cutter romance novel heroine, she is even better: she is like one of us readers! She struggles with her size, she was doing social distancing before it was a thing, yet she has strength, she is smart, she is capable, she is a sweetheart with a caring, generous heart. She is just the kind of relatable, strong, lovable, and able heroine that Janie Crouch writes so well, and those ladies are one of the reasons why I love her books. And I couldn't imagine a better mate to Nadine than Wyatt. Just the fact that they have been penpal's for a year won me over, because while corresponding by writing you get to know the other person on a completely different, deeper level than with casual meetings in busy places while dating. They have a solid, deep foundation to start to build upon and the palpable attraction between them sizzles. Without a fail, I loved every moment of this compelling, high-tempo, gripping tale of fighting for your life and for your future in the mids of intense suspense and ardent romance. The Linear Tactical series is a must-read for romantic suspense readers! ~ Five Spoons!

Amazing story about second chances, growing as a person, learning to trust, daring to risk your heart for love. This story swept me off my feet; the emotions were intense, the connection and chemistry between Gavin and Lexi were potent and palpable, the secrets they kept from each other bringing suspense to their relationship.
I have liked Gavin since he for the first time showed up with the Linear Tactical series. He is a man of law and order, organization, and straightforwardness, rough around the edges, a person who doesn't trust easily. It is pure karma that the person he falls for is the one with the most secrets to hold. Lexi had a lot of redemption and forgiveness to earn from her previous appearance with Linear Tactical guys, yet I had no ill feelings towards her. The way she was presented, it was natural for me to feel sympathy towards her and be on the team Lexi from the start. Redwood runs parallel to the past stories from the LT series yet they are so brilliantly entwined within each other, giving a fresh point of view to the events, that I was mesmerized and hooked throughout the tale. I loved that the LT team with their spouses were present and witnessing the happenings of the developing relationship, and there to support them when things go astray. I loved how this story pulled me and my mind and feelings into the tale of danger and romance so completely that I forgot the world around me. I devoured the tale at once, I could not put it down and didn't want to leave Oak Creek once it came to the end. If you love romance novels with deep feels, beautiful, meaningful love scenes, a love story that is spiced up with a touch of danger and suspense you are going to adore the Redwood and the Linear Tactical series, I myself, am enamored. ~ Five Spoons! Wow. The highly anticipated tale of Noah and Marilyn is here and I adored every single moment of the story: the threat, the danger, the sweetly slow yet ardent romance building up... just brilliant.
Another brilliant thing that was done so smoothly and what seemed effortlessly - combining three different series into one book, and in one of those series the author was just visiting on. The overlapping of tales and couples was well done and it was lovely to visit with some of the old friends and scenes from another aspect. The abuse Marilyn has suffered and survived is unimaginable and cruel, yet that whole situation with her past was done with respect and discreet way. I love Noah and his way to honor and respect Marilyn on every step of the way while she overcomes her abuse. The connection Noah builds with Marilyn's kids just made me smile. The constant thread is possibly deadly, and the couple has to face the dangers of lunatic man as well as of nature in what felt like a fast-paced fight for a better tomorrow. The story covers a longer time period than most romantic suspense books, spanning over several months, giving the chance for the natural progress of the romance. Linear Tactical series is one of my favorites, each story winning my heart over in a different way for different reasons. And Storm is no exception, it has several scenes that will linger in my mind for a long time, and it is definitely a book I can highly recommend with winning, charming, lovable characters, intense suspense and danger, and romance that swept me off my feet... Unputdownable entertainment! ~ Five Spoons
Sometimes the deepest scars are the ones that can't be seen.
Single mom Peyton Ward works three jobs to make ends meet. At Linear Tactical she’s surrounded by heroes on a regular basis…but none of them are hers. She thought she'd found one in Linear’s silent partner, and country music superstar, Cade Conner. She was wrong. Unintended wounds still cut as deep. Cade may not work day to day operations at Linear, but he takes the mission of the company he helped create—teaching survival intelligence and self-defense skills to the people who need them most—seriously. And finding out he’s wounded Peyton in the worst way possible weighs on him. So when danger on two separate fronts closes in on her, he will damn well be by her side. Making sure they survive so he can right his personal wrongs. He might not have been a Special Forces soldier, but Cade Conner knows how to fight. And Peyton is a woman worth fighting for.
An ardent and adorable love story, with a touch a danger and violence that within an eyeblink sends chills down your spine... The story swept me away with the potent feels, it had me smiling and in tears, its focus is on the endearing second chance romance, that hit all the spots of young love between a rich boy and a poor, abused girl that ends with misunderstandings, a secret baby, and meddling family... After a detailed, long prologue by both of the main characters' points of view, the story starts to flow effortlessly and smoothly, telling the tale of heartbreak, healing, and redemption, mixed with danger, abuse, and betrayal.
The Linear Tactical series has deservedly gotten a lot of praise from me, the characters and the situations they end up in are engrossing, entertaining, and gripping. Peyton Ward's little daughter, Jess, and Finn's son Ethan has won over the hearts of all the readers of the series. Jess and Ethan have often been the little light, heartening touch of innocence to balance all the darkness Linear Tactical guys face in their jobs. I love that smart little genius and the relationship she has with her mother as well as with Ethan. I loved seeing Jess interact with Cade Conner, and I loved that the parents were able to be mature about things and not keep long, unnecessary secrets to create more drama. The relationship with Cade and Payton had honesty and realness in it, mix with the magic of falling in love. The connection between them was true and tight, able to withhold the test of time and circumstances. I believed in the connected, as I believed in them and cheered on to find the HEA they both so well deserved. Each of the Linear Tactical stories stands on their own, yet are connected as series, and as one of my favorites, I do recommend to read all of them, in order if possible, to get the most of the developing relationships and storylines. A fantastic addition to the series; to get the bright, light and love-filled future Payton and Jess have always deserved, they have to face deep, dark moments of utter fear, anxiety and threats, even deadly danger. ~ Four Spoons with a Teaspoon on the side

The wedding is two weeks away
If they survive until then… Following a fire at the New Journeys women’s shelter, Deputy Tanner Dempsey is on high alert, and his fiancée, Bree Daniels, fears that one of the shelter’s clients is being targeted. Outmanned and outgunned, Tanner and Bree must make a last stand for justice and unravel the twisted plot of a dangerous sociopath. Will it be “’til death do us part” before they can say “I do”?
What an amazingly explosive, intense, emotional, fierce and severe ending to the enchanting series that has captured my mind over the summer.
Staring this new type of serial novel series from Intrigue where the same couple faces different kinds of danger and suspense on their way to their happily ever after over the four books - I knew two things: One: I am not a fan of serial novels Two: I would read anything Janie Crouch writes. And she certainly didn't disappoint. The journey with Bree and Tanner has been filled with edgy situations, deep emotions, awkward moments, tears, fear, laughter, and swooning sighs. From their meet-cute to the end, Bree and Tanner have had my full attention while they captured my heart. I can not say enough about them, you have to experience the magic, the undeniable connection that is Bree and Tanner, yourself. The thrilling action has been fierce, and especially in this last installment, Risk Everything, where they are not only against seasoned cruel criminal minds but against the unpredictability of wilderness - one of my favorite type of suspense - I literally read the book through at one sitting, without even realizing it, cause the enchantingly unputdownable tale! I loved how the author shined a light to the very sensitive and tough issue of domestic violence, with the utter respect towards the survivors. Noah, Dan, Cheryl and the whole secondary gang of characters were drawn with deep characteristics, they were people I grew to love and care for as well. And when the crumpy, antisocial but generous old man Henrikson comes and saves the day - I was enamored! I have truly enjoyed the RISK series and the danger and peril filled journey of Bree and Tanner. I will miss them, but thankfully these books are definite re-read material, and perfect for binge-reading! All the four books are out now, so for those who do not like the wait in between installments of serial novels, you can now just read them all at once! A fabulous, smashing ending to the thrilling, killer series ~ Five Spoons!

The hunters
Become the hunted. Deputy Tanner Dempsey and Bree Daniels are tasked with unraveling a deadly mystery in Dallas—one that involves transmitting live feeds of victims trapped in tanks as they fill with water. Bree’s computer genius is their only hope at solving the crime. Knowing the darkness in Bree’s past, Tanner is determined to make sure she comes out of this emotionally unscathed. Especially once they both become a killer’s next target…
I adore Bree and Tanner, their story and the connection they have sizzling in between them. But even more than that, I love the tender feelings, the protectiveness, the caring, the desire to get to know each other, and how they always support each other. The fact that Bree is awkward in social situations comes even more clear and is rather heavily underlined at the beginning, but also explained and showed how it all got to be before the book is over.
The suspense is intense at times. There are hair-raising moments, there are death threats and the ticking timebomb that is counting down in their computer screens. That insanely vehement research into the case with the computers reminded me of the other serial novel the author was part of, Tough Justice: Countdown, and gave just another confirmation that a savage investigation into a murder can be done in cyberspace as well. Was the storyline a bit predictable as they took the road trip - yes, giving even more severity into the reading experience as you are just waiting for the hammer to hit, so to speak... The fierce and boisterous suspense and investigation balance the adorably ardent romance developing in between Tanner and Bree. Their story will continue with one more installation, and I am looking forward to it. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Action, danger, and threats, mind manipulations and international crimes, sweet yet passionate romance with your best friend's baby sister - Shadow have it all, and it is wrapped into an entertaining and fast-moving tale that holds your attention.
The oldest and most ardent Crouch fans (waving my hand vigorously) might recognize some of the base storyline from a novella, Covert Intents, that she first published 2015. There was a scene that triggered the recognition for me, yet it just whet my appetite towards the story, to find out how the story was expanded, changed, and brought into the Linear Tactical setting, and into a full-length novel. Certainly, it didn't disappoint! The Linear Tactical series with its ardent stories that at the same time spooked you and enamored you have become one of my all-time favorite series that I can't get enough of. There is the tight brotherhood, the humor, and banter between them, the palpable love and loyalty they have for each other and their loved ones, and the passion they have towards everything they put their minds into, not the least to protect those in their circle of their 'family'. Yes, the stories can be read as standalone books, yet I would recommend to read them in order, as some of the plotlines do continue throughout the series, and you can get so much more out of the story knowing the background to the events and to the team members. Like, for example, the mind-manipulation to Heath Kavanaugh's brain. While I got a thrill out of the mysterious manipulation tactics (that started in Ghost) and finding out the reasons and culprits behind them, I am happy to see that the relief for those who suffered the consequences of the crimes is here, and the particular storyline seemed to be wrapped up in Shadow. Both Heath and Lyn were lovable characters, so effortless to connect with. I loved the way they saw each other, how they brought the best out of each other, and the protective yet understanding way Heath reacted to Lyn's health problems. I loved Lyn's sharp mind, both of their ability to get languages, and her strong will that she was finally able to express to her male-dominated family as well. Lyn and her personality, her drive for independence and acceptance from her family, reign the tale when it came to the protagonists, as Heath and the insights to his background were staying more in the shadows of the strong heroine. Intense situations, secrets, betrayals, menace, and peril are tangibly part of the tale that engaged, engrossed, and charmed my mind. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

An intense thriller to catch the menacing killer, the mastermind behind the recent murders, the one who is going all out to frame Deputy Tanner Dempsey for the crimes and would gladly use Bree Daniels' life as collateral damage.
As a reader who is not a fan of serial novels and who likes to each book in a series to have a new couple finding their HEA, I am in awe with this story and how brilliantly the author manages to make me forget that this is part two to a serial novel of Tanner and Bree's life. Humbled how well it can be done, how fresh she kept the story, and how easily anyone could pick this book up and not be disappointed, thinking they are missing something - while not being too repetitive to those who had the pleasure to read Calculated Risk first. To see Tanner and Bree's emotions and feels for each other grow slowly yet passionately and deeply, taking such root that has the potential forever after, was delightful and sweet. The desire is there yet the passion is mostly kept behind the closed doors. There are so much love and devotion between Tanner and Bree it is palpable, yet the depth of the feels managed to get me completely off guard when life got fragile, and I found myself in tears, hoping for redemption. The fierce, mortal, on the edge suspense that comes up close and personal for Tanner and Bree and puts their lives and future in danger, was potent, vigorous, and gripping. The tempo, tautness, and energy of the tale stay high, the beginning of the tale getting the heart rate up and the following events keeping it accelerated as the story unfolds. The sweet innocence of the romance mixed with brutal murders, lethal crimes that puts Tanner and Bree in dire straits. A thrilling and riveting continues to their story. ~ Five Spoons

This story is a conspiracy theorist's dream.
It is severely intense, from the very beginning it is spellbinding with its tension, riveting with the palpable fear, and the possibilities of the unimaginable terror that keeps constantly playing at the edge of the mind while reading... Oh my. The tale has a smooth flow, it has chemistry, it has intriguing characters, plenty of action and suspense, the again -- intensity, the power of this story is in its intensive and impressive fierceness. And I like the small town vibe the story has, how they all stand together for one of their own. As the story was unfolding I was fascinated to see how the organization and people behind it would give themselves out, how the plot would play out, what was going to happen, who was going to survive... The story took hold of me from the very first scene and kept it, and I'm looking forward to more in the next installment of this fiery series. Would I have wished there was more romance -- yes, but the story between Tanner Dempsey and Bree Daniels will continue to develop from here through the four books of the series. The only constant throughout the series is the couple, the trouble they face and the crimes they solve are new in each book, so no cliffhangers. The chemistry between them was hot, the connection was believable and the interest to learn more about their journey, and watch them grow in their relationship is definitely there, high, and arising. For the first time, while reading a suspense story, I didn't even stop to wonder if everything that was happening was believable or not. There was no need to, since the story was moving forward with such potent, compelling speed, that I didn't care to wonder about anything, just holding on to my seat to stay on the wild ride. It was fast, entertaining, edgy, and even a bit adorable and ardent, filled with twists, and the awareness level dial set to the maximum so that I might now be slightly paranoid myself, too. Delightfully vigorous suspense and a marvelous start of an epic love story delivering pure unputdownable entertainment! ~ Five Spoons!

Everyone eventually breaks under torture.
It’s a truth elite solider and government agent Dorian Lindstrom, codename Ghost, knows firsthand. His body may have recovered from what was done to him in that Afghani prison six years ago, but his mind…not quite so much. He’s seeing dead people. Grace Brandt, government codename Wraith, knows her past can’t be forgiven. She has stayed “dead” for as long as she could, but now the forces she’s been fighting, the secrets slowly suffocating her, won’t stay hidden any longer. And the man she helped break—the man she's always loved—is the only one who can stop the danger threatening them all. When it comes to keeping the people he loves safe, including the one who thinks she’s not worthy of it, there is no danger—past, present or future—Dorian won’t battle. The Ghost will rise.
Wow. Just wow.
This story will stay in your mind, hunt your dreams, and make an imprint to your heart cause Dorian and Grace will take your breath away. The pain they have experienced shattered my heart. The loss of control, the constant distress, consequences of the past torment is unimaginable. Ghost still has the same vibe, the same brotherhood, the connection - if not stronger - between the military brothers, Linear Tactical, than in the previous books. But it is darker with the danger and malice that is done to the special force members, to the men of black ops so dark, they can't even see their own shadows. The story goes into those deep, dark corners of the human mind that is still mysterious to us. It has the palpable sense of utter despair, loss of control, unpredictability. But the story delivers on all accounts, granting mercy, forgiveness, and redemption when needed. Surely the story dances on the line of is it believable or not, could this have actually happened, kind of wishing the answer is no cause this book, the story hunted my mind, and I do not wish anyone would have to go through what these warriors have to endure. Their destiny came to my dreams, and that's a sign of a fabulous, intense, memorable suspense story. Ghost does take a different direction from the previous books in the series, it paints their army days as a more of painful reality to the LT men than the glorious past. It shows so clearly and tangible what a war can do to a person's mind without glorifying it in any way. Amazing, really, how the author tells the story of these raw, broken souls, who have seen the worse of humanity. The connection between (Grace aka) Ray and (Dorian aka) Ghost is marvelous, all around just one swoon-worthy, yet earnest and tangibly passionate moment after another. To the point that within its intensity it reminds me of the fourth Omega book, Leverage, from the first Janie Crouch series, the story between the pilot and the scientist. Not for a moment is there a doubt in my mind how Ghost feels about Ray and what he would be willing to do to keep her safe, as well as his brothers. He is a man of dignity, honor, loyalty, and he is the man for Grace. As I read the story I got to witness breathtakingly beautiful love story, heartfelt and ardent, as fierce as it is delicate, as tender as it is passionate, in a mids of raw, brutal mind games and lethal, savage violence. This story stands well on its own, but to get the depth of Dorian's connection to his military brothers, I highly recommend the whole series. Let your mind to be blown away - and challenged -with this powerful and potent romantic suspense story, a tale that I fell in love with. ~ Five Spoons
